Romeo Doubs fantasy outlook: Should you draft Packers WR in 2024?

Romeo Doubs took a step forward in fantasy football last year in his second NFL season with the Green Bay Packers. Despite playing in an offense loaded with young weapons, he established himself as a major contributor. He will look to build off of his strong season but will have to overcome some challenges to his overall fantasy value. Here's where his outlook for 2024 currently stands.

Assessing fantasy football value for any player entering a new season is based on a number of factors. Past performances are just one of them, and many other variables must be considered as situations can drastically change each year. Some of these include a team's roster changes and a player's projected role in their offense.

Using this formula, Romeo Doubs qualifies as a risky option in 2024 fantasy football drafts. While he improved his output and fantasy ranking in Year 2, the Green Bay Packers offense should have more target competition this season. They are expected to get Christian Watson and Luke Musgrave back from injuries, while they also added Josh Jacobs. They may challenge Doubs' workload, making him a late-round flier in fantasy drafts.

Romeo Doubs 2024 fantasy outlook

In his rookie season with the Packers, Doubs turned in a solid performance with 42 receptions on 67 targets for 425 yards and three touchdowns on his way to a WR76 finish. He improved in all areas in his second year, totaling 59 receptions on 96 targets for 674 yards and eight touchdowns, finishing as the WR37. This made him a WR3 on most fantasy rosters last season.

Doubs proved to be a reliable receiver for first-year starting quarterback Jordan Love, but an injury to Christian Watson may have contributed to his inflated workload. If Watson can stay healthy this year, it may take away from Doubs' target share, though he offers plenty of upside as a red zone threat.

Is Romeo Doubs a good pick in fantasy football this year?

Targeting wide receivers in strong passing offenses has always been a solid strategy in fantasy football drafts. The Packers ranked inside the top 10 NFL teams in passing yards last season and are projected to have a similar output this year. This gives Doubs value in fantasy football, especially with his touchdown upside, but he also comes with significant risk.

If Doubs can maintain his role as one of Love's top targets, he can surely outperform his current ADP this season. He currently makes for a strong late-round flier with more upside than most other players in a similar tier this year. If he can continue to score touchdowns for the Packers, he can overcome what will likely be a reduction in volume.

Romeo Doubs ranks as the 134th overall player and WR53 in fantasy football drafts for the 2024 NFL season, according to his current ADP. This means that he profiles as a WR5 on most fantasy rosters, making him a depth option and a solid bench piece for many teams. He can be targeted beyond the 10th round of fantasy drafts to round out an overall roster construction.

The Packers wide receiver falls in a similar tier as other depth wide receivers who also carry notable risk into the 2024 fantasy football season. Sportskeeda's Who Should I Draft tool expects him to have a better season than Jerry Jeudy and Jahan Dotson but places him slightly behind Tyler Lockett. This valuable tool can be used to determine if Doubs is the best pick when on the clock of fantasy drafts.
