Roquan Smith is a professional American football linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens. Smith's professional career in the NFL started in 2018 when he was selected by the Chicago Bears in the NFL draft of 2018. Roquan Smith signed a four-year deal with the Chicago Bears worth $18.47 million in 2018 as per Spotrac. In the following season, Smith made his official NFL debut in a game against the Green Bay Packers. In a game against the Miami Dolphins smith had 13 tackles. Smith finished the following season where he recorded 121 tackles, five sacks, five passes defended, and one interception as per Sports Reference. In the 2019 season, Smith showcased a career-altering performance in a game against the Detroit Lions where he in the following match recorded 15 tackles and a sack. In the 2020 season, Smith became the first player in Bear's history with multiple interceptions in a single game.

In 2021 the Bears decided to use the fifth-year option in the contract of Roquan Smith. In the following season in a game against the Baltimore Ravens smith recorded career-high stats when he in the following match had a total of 17 tackles. After a successful run with the Bears, Smith was traded to the Baltimore Ravens. He then in 2023 signed a new contract extension deal for five years with the Ravens worth $100 million. Smith kept only improving his skills and performance and in his sophomore year, he recorded 5 tackles in 10 games. Smith was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press and was the recipient of the prestigious Butkus Award in 2017. After a successful junior year, Smith decided that he would not play in his senior season and enter the 2018 NFL draft. Roquan Smith played for the Chicago Bears for almost 5 years before signing for the Ravens in 2022.
