The Las Vegas Raiders find themselves firmly out of contention, as was expected at the start of the season. Head coach Antonio Pierce named Gardner Minshew the starting quarterback for the year but we have seen little of note since through four weeks of football. Despite a win over Cleveland on Sunday, things went sideways for the Raiders after Pierce appeared to hit 'like' on a post suggesting the Raiders should trade Davante Adams.
Now, Raiders insider Vincent Bonsignore reports that the franchise is open to a trade.
"A league source with knowledge of the situation confirmed that the Raiders are growing open to the idea of trading Davante Adams. The source said the club has begun reaching out to teams to gauge interest in the veteran wide receiver."

UPDATE: Per NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, Davante Adams has requested a trade away from the franchise.
Davante Adams addresses Antonio Pierce's social media activity on trade rumor
It appears Adams is not a perenially offline person. The fact that his head coach hit 'like' on a post endorsing a trade didn't go unnoticed. The 3x All-Pro appeared on the Up and Adams Show earlier today and had this to say about Pierce's social media activity:
“I haven’t heard from him. I haven’t talked to him. I don’t really know what that’s about. Social media’s a beast. A lot of people saw it, wondering what’s going on and people reached out. But I haven’t spoken to him.
“It’s hard to comment on. I’m sure you would imagine as such but it’s one of those situations where I put my head down and keep doing my thing and let the chips fall where they may as it pertains to that. There’s been no communication with anyone from the team since it became a thing. But it’s become a weekly What’s up with Tae thing. It’s always some sort of drama.”
Bonsignore's report is the closest we've come to the notion that a Davante Adams trade may be on the horizon. ESPN insider Adam Schefter recently noted that the franchise did receive calls on their All-Pro WR before the season kicked off but made it known that they weren't open to parting with their star playmaker.
Per Spotrac, the cost of acquiring Adams this month would be $13.5M against $8.6 million at the NFL Trade Deadline.
