As the NFL trade deadline looks to end today at 4:00 PM ET, the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to add Jacksonville Jaguars pass rusher Josh Allen.
According to Sports Illustrated and Dov Kleiman, the Chiefs recently called the Jaguars about Allen.
The Kansas City Chiefs defensive line is currently led by Chris Jones, Frank Clark, George Karlaftis and Derrick Nnadi. If acquired, Allen would likely take Karlaftis' spot on the opposite side of Clark. Adding Allen to the Chiefs' defensive line would create more pressure, which could lead to more sacks for Jones and Clark.

Allen was drafted by Jacksonville as the seventh overall pick in the first-round of the 2019 NFL draft. He made the Pro Bowl in his rookie season where he recorded a career-high 10.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
Over the past 30 games, Allen has recorded 13 sacks, three forced fumbles, and just one fumble recovery. He has 23.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 46 career games played thus far.
While he hasn't quite lived up to the the expectations that the Jaguars had when he came out of Kentucky, Allen has been a solid defensive end. It would make sense for Jacksonville to trade him if they are offered something good in return, and it makes sense for the Chiefs to acquire another impactful pass-rusher for their defensive line.
The Jacksonville Jagaurs and Kansas City Chiefs have been involved in trades this season
While the Chiefs have phoned the Jags about Allen, nothing is quite imminent.
Jacksonville may be set to keep Allen for the remainder of the year and might not want to trade him away. They could also decide to do another deal this season.
Last week, on Oct. 25, James Robinson was traded to the New York Jets in exchange for a conditional sixth-round pick as they lost Breece Hall to a torn ACL injury. The move was quite a surprise as many didn't expect the Jaguars to get rid of Robinson, but they felt confident in doing so with the emergence of Travis Etienne.
The Kansas City Chiefs have also made a trade during the season. They acquired wide receiver Kadarius Toney from the New York Giants for some draft picks, and they also made a big Tyreek Hill trade this summer.
A trade could happen between these two teams, and we will find out in hours if something happens.
