The Las Vegas Raiders are now officially one of five teams in the NFL without a head coach. Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson was rumored to be named as their next head coach but reports emerged on Monday night detailing how Johnson had chosen the Bears' project with Caleb Williams.

This comes despite the allure of working with Tom Brady in Sin City on a higher salary. Brady, of course, purchased 5% of the franchise last year.

Now, the Raiders will have to turn their attention to Plan B, if there is one. They do have some help on that front. NFL insider Albert Breer reported this week that Egon Durban, the CEO of Silver Lake, is helping the Raiders in their search for a new general manager and head coach.

Durban purchased 7.5% of the team in December and his previous experience includes serving on the board of English soccer powerhouse Manchester City.

Man City have won four straight Premier League titles and also added a Champions League title to their trophy cabinet in 2023.

Much like the Raiders, Man City also had to be reshaped in one man's image - current manager Pep Guardiola. Since placing Guardiola at the helm, the club has tasted success nearly every season, dominating the Premier League.

Where do Tom Brady's Raiders go from here after being rejected by Ben Johnson?

With Ben Johnson off the board, the Raiders now have to turn to Plan B, which figures to be former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll.

Carroll and the Seahawks parted ways last summer with Seattle placing Mike Macdonald in charge. Carroll also expressed interest in the Chicago Bears job, though that is now off the table.

The Raiders could also take a look at Ben Johnson's colleague Aaron Glenn, another man wanted by a few franchises. Glenn has been strongly linked with the vacant HC job over at the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets.

As of the time of writing, the Raiders have also held interviews with former Jets head coach Robert Saleh and former Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera, which means they have satisfied the Rooney Rule. They are also expected to interview Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken.
