Geno Smith is rumored to be on the New York Jets' radar during the NFL offseason. The free-agent quarterback is coming off the best season of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, serving as the starting quarterback for the first time since 2014. The last time he was a starter, he played for the Jets, so the franchise is familiar with his abilities.
The Jets are reportedly seeking a veteran quarterback to replace Zach Wilson as their starter. They are apparently considering all of their options, including a reunion with Smith. It's unclear at this point if the Seahawks are looking to bring him back on a new contract, but if he switches teams, his old home may be his new one again.
Geno Smith was one of the best stories of last season. He won the Comeback Player of the Year award for his incredible season as a starter after spending six years as a back-up for four different teams. His career could come full circle if he makes a return to the team that drafted him all the way back in 2013.

He then spent the next two seasons as a backup for the New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers before signing with the Seattle Seahawks in 2020. He served as a backup for Russell Wilson for two years, earning his opportunity to be a starter again last season.

Geno Smith has set new career highs in many categories, including yards and touchdowns, while leading the entire NFL in completion percentage. He has elevated himself from being a solid backup to a legitimate starter in one amazing year. He will now look to capitalize on his value this offseason.
