The Dolphins aren't ruling out moving on Tagovailoa amid Lamar Jackson's contract situation.

The Miami Dolphins don't appear to be set on Tua Tagovailoa as their quarterback of the future as the franchise has one eye on the developing status of other quarterbacks.

With Tagovailoa's concussion issues, the thought of him still having a long career in the NFL is likely over. With each concussion, the risk to his health post football increases, and the Dolphins are aware of it.

Per Josina Anderson, the Dolphins are exploring all options at quarterback as Tagovailoa's concussion issues are still front of mind for the franchise.

“League scores have told me again last night and today that there are members in the organization of the Dolphins who are aware that the team is exploring all of their options at quarterback and including potentially moving in another direction from Tua."

"So yes that is happening, that is part of the due diligence that a general manager should do when you are considering the concussion and head issues and injury history on the head.”

It appears that the Dolphins are looking at options other than Tua Tagovailoa heading into next season. His concussion issues appear to be the deciding factor on whether Miami will go ahead with him at quarterback or not.

Does that mean that Lamar Jackson is in the team's sights? The contract standoff between the Ravens and Lamar is not nearing a conclusion. With each passing day that a new deal isn't agreed, the likelihood of Jackson staying in Baltimore diminishes.

Could the Dolphins look to bring in Jackson? It is a possibility. Given that Tagovailoa is entering a contract year and Miami has to choose whether or not to exercise his fifth-year option, the opportunity to go after Jackson is there.

Whether or not the franchise does will remain to be seen. One thing is for certain, Tagovailoa's future in Miami is anything but safe.
