New Orleans Saints pulled off a remarkable victory against Washington Redskins

The New Orleans Saints were on the ropes against the Washington Redskins down 31-16 with five minutes to go. New Orleans tied the game in regulation and Mark Ingram busted a 31-yard run in overtime to set up the game-winning field goal by Will Lutz (28 yards) in overtime to lift the Saints to a 34-31 (OT) victory against the Redskins.

Ingram was a monster once again the Saints. He rushed for 134 yards on only 11 carries and a touchdown. Ingram also caught three passes for 21 yards receiving.

With the game tied at 3 in the first quarter, Kirk Cousins threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Chris Thompson Jr. The effort was his only reception of the game and he rushed for 17 yards on four carries. Thompson Jr. was carted off the field later in the game with a leg injury and his leg was in a air cast.

Ingram scored on a 36-yard touchdown run later in the first for the Saints. Samaje Perine scored on a 1-yard rush for the Redskins in the second quarter. Perine finished with 117 yards rushing on 23 carries and a score. Perine also had a catch for nine yards receiving.

With the Redskins leading 17-13 in the third quarter, Ryan Grant caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins. Grant had three receptions for 59 yards receiving and a touchdown.

With the Redskins leading 24-16 in the fourth-quarter, Cousins threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Sprinkle. It was Sprinkle's first career touchdown reception. Cousins completed 22-of-32 passes for 322 yards and three touchdowns. He handled the Saints defense well right throughout the game.

Speaking of the Saints defense, cornerback Marshon Lattimore left the game for New Orleans with an ankle injury. The Saints scored two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter by Josh Hill (3-yard reception) and Alvin Kamara (18-yard reception and Kamara 2-point conversion).

Kamara rushed for 42 yards on 8 carries and he caught six passes for 74 yards receiving and a touchdown. Brees completed 29-of-41 passes for 385 yards two touchdowns and one interception. Coby Fleener and Michael Thomas each had 91 yards receiving for New Orelans.

Will Lutz made four field goals for the Saints (52, 29, 42, and 28 yards). Nick Rose made one field goal for the Redskins from 38 yards out. The Redskins will host the New York Giants (2-8) on Thanksgiving Night and the Saints will travel to face the Los Angeles Rams (7-3) next Sunday.
