One was supposed to be a title contender but has since fallen on trying times, while the other was projected to be a mere stopgap but has instead become a playoff contender thanks to having prolific weapons to work with for the first time in his career.

Is Sam Darnold a good fantasy pick in Week 14?

Remember when Sam Darnold played for teams with extremely depleted offenses? First, it was the New York Jets, then it was the Carolina Panthers.

His situation greatly improved when he joined the San Francisco 49ers, but he was stuck behind Brock Purdy. And it seemed as if he would never get a fair shot again, even after he joined the Minnesota Vikings.

And then JJ McCarthy tore his meniscus and needed season-ending surgery. Suddenly, Darnold found himself playing with Aaron Jones, Justin Jefferson, and Jordan Addison. And it has worked - so well that he has scored over 200 fantasy points and is in Sportskeeda's top 10 QBs.

Against the Atlanta Falcons, he should be decent. While they have allowed only 7.98 points against QBs - one of only three teams to post single-digits - that is still worlds away from the top two: the Los Angeles Chargers and Buffalo Bills, who are each at below 2.5.

Remember when Tua Tagovailoa was going to lead the Miami Dolphins to their first-ever division title since 2008? That promise has since evaporated, but he can still make the playoffs.

And he is coming off a hot fantasy scoring streak - more than twenty points in each of his last three games, putting him at QB6. The New York Jets, however, may pose a strong challenge.

Despite their offensive woes, they are still the eighth-best team against QBs, albeit having allowed 12.44 points.
