The addition of Saquon Barkley has been nothing short of extraordinary for the Philadelphia Eagles. The running back, signed out of the New York Giants during free agency, quickly established many records for himself and the franchise, and a strong performance was expected against the Carolina Panthers.

Not only did Saquon dominate through the ground, but he also reached a fantastic milestone: with another performance over 100 rushing yards, he became the Eagles' all-time single-season leading rusher, surpassing LeSean McCoy's 1,607 rushing yards back in 2013.

This was not the best performance of Philadelphia's season, but they managed to walk away with the win. Barkley was one of the key pieces for this win.

A summary of Saquon Barkley's stats for the Eagles against the Panthers in Week 14 of the 2024 NFL season is given below.

This was expected to be a great individual performance by the running back. The Panthers started the week allowing 4.8 yards per carry, one of the worst marks in the NFL. Moreover, they also had Jadeveon Clowney inactive through injury, making their run defense even weaker.

But this was still a special game. Breaking McCoy's record in his first year with the franchise was noteworthy, but to do so in just 12 games is even more impressive. He now has 1,623 rushing yards for this season, and with five games to go, he needs 483 yards to break Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing yards record, which he set in 1984 with 2,105 rushing yards.

It was the ninth occasion in 2024 where he rushed for over 100 yards, but represented a rare occasion where he did not score a touchdown. After he was stopped at the one-yard line, Philadelphia's first touchdown happened in a tush push by Jalen Hurts.

With games against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Washington Commanders, the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants remaining, he could break the single-season rushing record against the Eagles' rivals and against his old team. This would make for one of the greatest stories of the season.
