Sean Martin is an American football defensive lineman who declared for the 2025 NFL draft after he played at West Virginia University in the 2024 season. He launched his collegiate career in 2020 by playing for the West Virginia Mountaineers football program in the Big 12 Conference. During his 5-year collegiate tenure, he appeared in 56 games. Martin’s collegiate debut came against Kansas State in 2020. Due to primarily playing as a special team member in his first season, Martin couldn’t tally any defensive stats. While Martin went on to become a regular in the lineup in the following season, he had to wait until 2022 to get starting snaps for the first time.
In the 2023 season, Sean made his way into the starting lineup full-time as he started all 13 games that year (via West Virginia University Athletics). Martin’s time at Morgantown, Virginia, concluded with him tallying 100 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks. The Bluefield, West Virginia, native did his schooling at Bluefield High School, where coach Freddy Simon mentored him. Martin was a two-sport athlete back then, playing for his high school’s basketball team (via West Virginia University Athletics).
