Ken Behring and partner Ken Hoffman acquired the Seattle Seahawks in 1988. Behring and Hoffman chose to make the bold decision to move team operations to California which was highly criticised. On facing charges from the NFL and speculations from the fans, Behring and Hofmann decided to sell their team in 1997.

Paul Allen acquired the Seattle Seahawks for reportedly $200 million in 1997. He was the co-founder of Microsoft and was in charge when the franchise made a return to the NFC West in 2002.
