On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks traveled South to State Farm Stadium to take on the Arizona Cardinals in a battle for the top spot in the NFC West standings.
The Seahawks came into this game on the back of three straight wins that saw them take control of the race for the division title. A fourth straight victory would see Seattle inch closer to earning the right to host a home playoff game in January.
The Cardinals looked prime to pip their rivals and win the division title, but a two-game skid saw them surrender the top spot in the NFC West standings to Seattle. They could have reclaimed it with a win at home against the Seahawks.
With so much at stake, the game was bound to be an exciting affair. Here's how it panned out:

Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals game summary
The Cardinals got off to a hot start as quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver Michael Wilson combined for a 41-yard touchdown to open the scoring.
But what followed was an unmitigated disaster for the home team. The Seahawks responded with a field goal and in the subsequent drive, Murray tried to thread the needle and find Marvin Harrison Jr. but was picked off by Ernest Jones.
Seattle wasted no time in capitalizing as on the first play after the turnover, Geno Smith found Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the endzone for a touchdown.
In the subsequent drive, Murray made another costly mistake as he underthrew a pass to wide receiver Zay Jones, who couldn't prevent defensive back Coby Bryant from undercutting the route and picking off the pass.
Smith and the Seahawks gladly accepted the Cardinals' gift for the second time in as many drives and scored another touchdown to take a 10-point lead.
Arizona ended Seattle's 17-point run with a field goal. But the visitors responded with another touchdown, as running back Zach Charbonnet found a hole in the Cardinals' defense and punished them with a 51-yard run that saw the Seahawks 14-point lead.
Midway through the third quarter, Seahawks kicker Jason Myers extended his team's lead to 17 with a 36-yard field goal. After Seattle's run of ten unanswered points, the Cardinals responded with a James Conner touchdown and a two-point conversion, which cut the home team's deficit to nine.
Midway through the fourth quarter, the Cardinals embarked on a nine-play, 70-yard drive, which stalled at the Seahawks' 21-yard line. Arizona head coach Jonathan Gannon opted to go for a field goal rather than trying to convert a 4th-and-2 to keep the drive alive.
However, he'd regret that decision as kicker Chad Ryland's 40-yard attempt cannoned off the upright and Seattle remained nine points ahead. In the subsequent drive, Smith and the offense milked the clock with a stellar drive that took nearly five and a half minutes off the clock.
They set up a 35-yard field goal for Jason Myers, who made no missed in splitting the uprights and giving his team a 12-point lead. In the game's final drive, Seattle played prevent defense and allowed Arizona to eat up the yards. Murray and the Cardinals' offense made it all the way to the Seahawks' seven-yard line but time ran out before they could score.
The visitors left State Farm Stadium with a 30-18 win and now sit atop the NFC West standings with an 8-5 record, one game clear of the Los Angeles Rams.
