Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen is expected to be appointed as the Indianapolis Colts' next head coach. Steichen just helped guide the Eagles to a Super Bowl appearance, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Eagles offense fired on all cylinders in the Super Bowl and put up 35 points. Quarterback Jalen Hurts passed for more than 300 yards, ran for 70 and scored a total of four TDs against the Chiefs.
The Eagles' impressive offensive display in Super Bowl 57 can be attributed to Steichen's work with the team throughout the 2022 NFL season. Philadelphia placed third in the league in terms of yards per game (389.5) and scoring average (28.1), proving how far the Eagles have come under their offensive coordinator this season.

With the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts are expected to draft a quarterback. They will be hoping that Shane Steichen can help unlock his potential like he did with Jalen Hurts.
Shane Steichen's coaching career in the NFL
Shane Steichen will be the second offensive coordinator from the Philadelphia Eagles to be appointed as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. Before becoming the Colts' head coach in 2018, Frank Reich, who was dismissed by Indianapolis earlier in the season, also served as the offensive coordinator for the Eagles.
Since 2011, when Steichen worked as a defensive consultant with the Los Angeles Chargers, he has advanced through the ranks. Before becoming an offensive quality control coach with the Cleveland Browns, he served in that capacity for two seasons.
The following season, he returned to the Los Angeles Chargers, where he worked for two years. He was appointed the Chargers QB coach in 2016.
He worked in that role for four years. After leaving the Los Angeles Chargers, he joined the Philadelphia Eagles as offensive coordinator in the 2021 season.
With years of experience, Steichen will bring his coaching expertise and organizational qualities to the Colts. He commands respect from players and his fellow coaches and has a huge presence on the sidelines as well as in the dressing room.
Steichen is known to be a composed leader and can help the Colts improve in the upcoming NFL season.
