The New York Jets are officially on the search for a new head coach. The team fired Robert Saleh after the Week 5 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and while it's still early in the season and they'll look for new guidance, the focus for 2025 and beyond is on getting this search right.

Deion Sanders for Colorado is probably the hottest college football coach over the past two years. With the way he uses the media to motivate his team and take talents to Boulder, it's natural to wonder whether he could make the jump to the pros.

We've listed three reasons why this would represent a good move.

3 reasons why Deion Sanders to the New York Jets would be a good move

#1 - Nobody would deal better with the media

After two years and the many changes that he brought to Colorado, it's obvious that Deion can deal with the media and with expectations. The coach hasn't been afraid to speak his thoughts, and even if the on-field product disappointed in 2023, he did not.

There's no worse media to create distractions than New York, and with the team away from the playoffs since 2010, everything could turn into a mess quickly. But Sanders is well-equipped to deal with this part of the job.

#2 - His polarizing style attracts many talents

You can either love him or hate him, but you know he's there - and this applies to everyone involved in the universe of the NFL and college football. There would be many players unexcited about the idea of playing for him, but at the same time, there would be a number of players really excited to do so.

He does a good job setting the culture and sometimes that's all players want to do. You can hear him using the Jets' playoff drought as motivation to bring some of his guys to the franchise.

#3 - He wouldn't give the reigns to Aaron Rodgers so easily

Perhaps one of the things that has caught the attention of the fans is how Aaron Rodgers has a say in everything related to the franchise. He's allowed to change calls at the line of scrimmage, the OC is his buddy, and he basically does what he wants to do - because the Jets allow him to.

Deion wouldn't allow that. He would treat Rodgers the same way he treats all players - the quarterback would be allowed to lead, of course, but he'd have to earn this before. It has not happened in New York Jets yet and Prime would change it.
