Washington Commanders RB Austin Ekeler has been a solid fantasy football asset in 2024. Despite not hitting the heights of his days with the Los Angeles Chargers, Ekeler has been an important piece for an electric Commanders offense headed up by rookie sensation QB Jayden Daniels.
Splitting time with Brian Robinson Jr., Ekeler stepped into the starting berth when Robinson missed time with an ankle injury. However, Ekeler is now headed to IR and will miss at least four games, with Robinson the sole starter in Washington.
Should you drop Austin Ekeler for Week 14 fantasy football?
Austin Ekeler suffered a concussion on a kick return right at the end of the Commanders' Week 12 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

This was the second concussion Ekeler has suffered this year, and he went onto IR prior to the Week 13 over the Tennessee Titans. Being placed on injured reserve means you'll have to miss a minimum of four games, likely ruling Ekeler out of the rest of the fantasy football season.
You can definitely drop him ahead of Week 14 of the 2024 NFL fantasy football season and replace him with the likes of Isaac Guerendo or Blake Corum from your waiver wire.
Austin Ekeler fantasy outlook for rest of 2024 season
Due to his concussion and subsequent placement on IR, Austin Ekeler doesn't have any value for the rest of the 2024 fantasy season.
If you're in need of a replacement via the waiver wire, Isaac Guerendo, Blake Corum and Kimani Vidal are solid backs with plenty of upside heading into the fantasy playoffs.
Other excellent waiver wire pickups ahead of Week 14 include the likes of Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Elijah Moore and Will Dissly.
