Dak Prescott's season has taken a huge turn for the worse. The quarterback's numbers have not impressed when compared to previous seasons, and after six weeks, he has just eight passing touchdowns and six interceptions as the Dallas Cowboys sit at a 3-3 record.

After giving him a deal with $60 million per year, the Cowboys were expecting the quarterback to dominate. But his lack of consistency has hurt everyone who starts him, from the franchise to fantasy football owners. As Dallas returns from the bye week, it's time to proceed with caution.

Should I drop Dak Prescott for Week 8 fantasy football?

At this point, surely there is a plethora of better options to start this week. Of course, if you have him on the roster and there are no options due to the bye weeks, you'll have to start him, but he should never be your primary option for this week.

The 63.4% completion rate from the 2024 season is the lowest since 2017, his second year in the league when their offense sputtered with poor wide receivers and Ezekiel Elliott suspended. He threw nine interceptions in 2023, but already has six this season.

Dak is not a bad quarterback by any means. But his inconsistency this season has been a problem, and CeeDee Lamb is also struggling a bit. The offensive line isn't good. As a whole, Dallas' offense is struggling this year. Their average of 21 points per game is below the NFL's average.

The safe thing to do in Week 8 is just keep him out of your starting lineup as they play the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football. The Cowboys lost three straight to the 49ers. You should still keep him on the roster, because nobody knows what could happen from now on

Dak Prescott's fantasy outlook for the rest of 2024 season

The Cowboys are averaging 3.5 yards per carry this season, dead last in the NFL. There's added volume in the passing game, but there's also added pressure and better preparation from opposing defenses.

Wait one or two weeks to see how Prescott will produce after the bye week and whether there will be any changes to the offense. He's still an important piece, but he could be demoted to the bench on your team if things don't improve for the Cowboys.
