Diontae Johnson fantasy outlook Week 10

Diontae Johnson has been a boom-or-bust wide receiver during the 2024 fantasy football season with the Carolina Panthers. In seven games, he finished among the top 12 weekly wide receivers three times, but outside of the top 50 in his other four appearances.

The veteran's fantasy outlook drastically changed when he was recently traded to the Baltimore Ravens, one of the best overall teams in the NFL. He made his debut last week, but was held without a reception. This makes him a potential drop candidate from fantasy rosters as Week 10 quickly approaches.

Many managers with Diontae Johnson on their fantasy rosters were excited about the news that he was traded from the Panthers to the Ravens. The move would theoretically increase his weekly upside due to going from being on one of the worst offenses in the entire NFL to one of the most productive ones.

He made his debut in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos and his performance cruched some of the optimism about his new situation.

Johnson was not only held without a reception in his first appearance with the Ravens, but he wasn't even targeted by Lamar Jackson on a single passing play for the duration of the game. Zay Flowers turned in a season-best performance as the preferred wide receiver and the team leaned on their signature rushing attack.

The disappointing debut makes it understandable for managers who decide to drop him in Week 10 fantasy football. Considering his assumed spot on the target hierarchy in a loaded offense, it may be difficult for him to carve out a role that will result in significant fantasy production.

The best move is likely to stash him on the bench for at least one more week, but he could also be dropped for a different option with more upside.

Diontae Johnson fantasy outlook for Week 10

After being blanked for zero fantasy points in his first game with the Ravens, Diontae Johnson is not a realistic option for Week 10 lineups. He is a bench stash this week at best with hopes that he becomes more productive as he becomes more comfortable in his new offense, but he is also a legitimate candidate to be dropped from fantasy rosters.

Johnson has Flowers and Rashod Bateman to compete with for touches at wide receiver, as well as an elite tandem of tight ends and one of the best running backs in the NFL, Derrick Henry. Add in the Ravens' run-first offensive scheme and Jackson's tendencies to scramble often, and there just may not be enough touches for Johnson to make any type of fantasy impact.
