Justin Fields has always been one of the best fantasy football quarterbacks since entering the NFL back in 2021.
Fields' rushing ability made him a must-start in many fantasy leagues, especially during the 2022 season, where he finished the year as QB7 due to 1,143 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.
However, Fields was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers after the Chicago Bears went in pursuit of Caleb Williams with the 1st overall pick (2024 NFL Draft).
Fields, initially the backup to Russell Wilson to begin the year, started in place of the veteran due to injury and helped his team to a 4-2 record.

However, with news of Fields potentially being dropped in favor of Wilson for Week 7, is he now a drop candidate in fantasy football?
Should I drop Justin Fields for Week 7 fantasy football?
Depending on the size of your roster and bench in fantasy football, it may be worth holding onto Justin Fields, just in case the Steelers decide to change their starter again.
Fields is one of the best fantasy football quarterbacks to have and is QB6 on the year so far, despite only being named starter for Pittsburgh's Week 1 matchup.
If you only have a six-man bench, it may be time to drop Fields onto waivers and pick up a further depth piece at one of the skill positions or another starting QB.
Justin Fields' fantasy outlook for the rest of 2024 season
Much of Justin Fields' fantasy outlook for the rest of the 2024 NFL season rests on the shoulders of HC Mike Tomlin and QB Russell Wilson.
If Tomlin decides to name Wilson as the starter this week and Wilson plays well for the rest of the year, Fields has no fantasy value barring an injury to Wilson.
However, if Wilson doesn't live up to expectations quickly, many Steelers fans may look for Fields to return to the lineup.
Fantasy owners of Fields will need to listen to press conferences ahead of Week 7 to see if Fields is being benched before setting their lineups.
