Kareem Hunt became highly valuable in fantasy football when he joined the Kansas City Chiefs this year following Isiah Pacheco's injury. Hunt turned in eight consecutive finishes among the top 30 weekly running backs while serving as their starter. This also includes four finishes as the RB13 or better.
His time as a staple in fantasy lineups has concluded since Pacheco has now returned to the Chiefs' lineup. Hunt has totaled just 12 carries across his past two games as he has moved to more of a complimentary role. This has made him a potential drop candidate ahead of Week 15 of the 2024 season.

Managers who were lucky enough to grab Kareem Hunt off of the waiver wire this year have likely been pleased by the results. He provided a major boost to many fantasy rosters by finishing as an RB2 or better six times in his eight games as a featured running back. While he exceeded expectations, his value has plummeted since Isiah Pacheco returned for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The veteran has played in just 30% of the offensive snaps across his past two games, and as Pacheco continues to get healthier, that number may drop even further. This means managers can now consider dropping Hunt from their roasters, especially with most leagues' fantasy playoffs beginning in Week 15.
It has become difficult to trust Hunt in weekly lineups despite his massive success in the middle portion of the 2024 fantasy football. There is also no need to stash him any longer with the playoffs underway. It would be wise to drop him in favor of another player who could be growing in fantasy value rather than declining.
Kareem Hunt fantasy outlook for rest of 2024 season
It seems unlikely that Hunt will bounce back in fantasy football unless Pacheco suffers another injury. Handcuffs are much less valuable this late in the season when managers should be fully optimizing all of their roster spots with the win-or-go-home nature of the fantasy playoffs.
Sportskeeda's Who Should I Start tool predicts that Pacheco will be the more productive running back in Week 15 when they face off against the Cleveland Browns. Pacheco is expected to increase his workload through the final few weeks of the season, so the gap in their fantasy projections is likely to grow each week.
