He currently ranks as the overall RB2 through the first seven weeks, with three weekly finishes among the top seven running backs. The issue is that all of them came in his first four games this year, so his output has declined in recent weeks.

The veteran dual-threat back has become a legitimate trade candidate in fantasy football leagues ahead of Week 8. Managers who have him on their rosters should seriously consider flipping him for a massive return as his best games this year may already be behind him. Selling high now may be the best way to handle his fantasy value.

Alvin Kamara has finished each of his seven seasons with the New Orleans Saints ranked as the overall RB18 or better. While this is surely an excellent history in fantasy football, his career-worst finishes of RB14 and RB18 happened in the last two seasons. This suggests that his current RB2 ranking during the 2024 season will likely regress as the campaign goes on.

This creates an opportunity for fantasy managers to sell high on the superstar RB. The Saints' offense has been hit by injuries, with Derek Carr, Rashid Shaheed and Chris Olave all going down recently. This has resulted in Kamara's three worst weekly finishes in each of his past three games. Now is the time to cash in on him before this alarming trend decreases his fantasy value.

Alvin Kamara has seen his fantasy value dip in recent weeks as the Saints are missing three of their key offensive players. While it opens up a larger potential workload for him, it hasn't played out that way. He has had his three lowest touch totals as well in the last three weeks.

It's unlikely that Kamara will completely fall off of the radar in fantasy football given his dominant history, but it's realistic to believe that his best games this season already happened. This could be further complicated by the return of Kendre Miller last week, who is likely to see his backfield workload increase. Kamara remains a strong fantasy football RB, but regression is likely going forward.
