CeeDee Lamb was a top fantasy football receiver last year but his value has hit a slump this season. With Dak Prescott out of the picture and the motivation of a new contract lighting a fire, there is a question about his ceiling for the rest of the campaign.

If it isn't high enough, trading him for a different player or set of players could make sense. However, making such a move could be a risky one, so grave care must be taken before pulling the trigger. Should you trade CeeDee Lamb?

If you are going to trade the veteran wide receiver, it is important to realize that at this point of the season, most managers are aware of his shortcomings, so trading him with grand expectations will most likely lead to disappointment.

However, if you are lucky to find a manager who only cares about the name value without looking at his production this season, by all means, milk that for all its worth. His realistic value is for an RB2 or low-tier WR2 at best, but most likely a flex-level player.

With Cooper Rush looking rough and Trey Lance seemingly less likely to pop off as the original third-string quarterback, Lamb's ceiling appears quite low. Even before Dak Prescott got injured, Lamb was playing well under his 2023 level with just one game above 100 receiving yards, per Pro Football Reference.

In the past two games, he has recorded less than 50 yards. It isn't all his fault, but with the team not equipped to push the ball downfield, he may be in line for a bench-level production level for the rest of the season.

The Dallas Cowboys WR could be shut down late in the year, ruining a manager's playoff game in Weeks 16-18. This may not take the form of an official announcement, either. All it could take is a sudden minor hamstring pull to convince the Cowboys to end his season and preserve him for 2025.

Put simply, this is likely the time to let another manager take him off your hands.
