Stephen Douglas McMichael is a former professional American wrestler and a former professional football player, who played defensive tackle for the New England Patriots, the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. He won Super Bowl XX with the Bears in 1985 and has an impressive record of 101 consecutive games that lasted until 1990. McMichael led the Bears in sacks (11.5 in 1988) and tackles (108 in 1989).
McMichael was a powerful defensive tackle for the Texas Longhorns, while attending the University of Texas at Austin. In his senior year, he was a unanimous first-team All-American and the 1979 Hula Bowl's defensive MVP. During his undergraduate career, he was named All-Southwest Conference in both 1978 and 1979, as well as team MVP in 1979. He was later honored into the Longhorn Hall of Honor in 1999. McMichael attended Freer High School in Texas and lettered in six sports: football, basketball, baseball, track, tennis, and golf. He was a superb baseball player, batting .450 as a catcher in his final year and attracting interest from MLB organizations including the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds.
