Sanders attended Marion High School in Marion, South Carolina, where he began his football journey. He played for the South Carolina Gamecocks from 2021 to 2024, taking the field 39 times during those four years. Sanders needed to wait a year to get the opportunity to play a full season, as he appeared in only two games during his freshman year.
