New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill, who was unavailable for the game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5, remained injured on Thursday as he was a DNP in the team's second practice of the week.

Hill has now been designated as a non-participant in five straight injury reports for the Saints because of a rib injury he suffered in Week 4 while playing on the road against the Atlanta Falcons.

He will get one more chance to participate in workouts this week before the Saints decide whether he's fit to participate in their Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or not.

Although fantasy managers and club supporters alike have held out hope that Hill, who was not placed on the injured reserve list, will return soon, head coach Dennis Allen is yet to disclose the severity of the veteran TE’s injury or the number of games he will miss.

In response to a question last week about whether Hill may go on the injured reserve, Allen said, "I don't know that.”

Due to injury issues, Taysom Hill has only appeared for the Saints thrice this campaign. In those games, he has totaled 14 runs for 77 yards.

Hill sustained his first injury of the season during New Orleans' Week 2 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The chest ailment he had that day was later determined to be a bruised lung that had triggered some trouble breathing.

He was taken to the hospital right away and that injury kept him out of the team's Week 3 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Taysom Hill injury update: What happened to Saints TE?

Taysom Hill went down with a rib problem in the Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons, having already scored two rushing touchdowns on only six touches in that game.

Given that Hill exited the game clutching his chest, many initially thought that his injury was a relapse of the chest injury he had suffered against Dallas two weeks prior. But Dennis Allen clarified after the game that the new injury is a rib condition.

While we still don't know how long Hill will sit out for, he has already missed one game since sustaining that injury and is now trending towards missing another one in Week 6.

Taysom Hill has been unavailable for the Saints' first two practices of the week ahead of the team's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. If he remains unavailable in Friday's practice, he will likely be ruled out completely for the Week 6 game.
