Tee Higgins has been a standout player for the Cincinnati Bengals when healthy, but he has struggled with a number of injuries that have kept him out of action.

Due to injuries, Higgins only had 12 appearances for Cincinnati last season and has already missed five games in just 10 weeks this season. He is now in danger of missing his sixth game of the campaign when the Bengals play the Los Angeles Chargers on the road in Week 11.

Although it's only Wednesday, reports have indicated Higgins may miss out again in Week 11 as a result of the quad injury that has kept him out of action for the last three games.

The Bengals, who enter Week 11 with a 4-6 record and risk missing the playoffs for the second consecutive season, are in dire need of all the assistance they can get.

In response to a question on Higgins' involvement in a team walkthrough early in the week, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Monday that the team must exercise caution with him.

“Walkthrough is pretty easy to participate in, so I wouldn’t read too much into that,” Taylor said about Higgins and offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr., according to Bengals.com. “We’ll get to Wednesday and see where it’s at.”

Taylor hinted Higgins is considered day-to-day, so it will be important for fantasy managers and fans of the Bengals to keep an eye on the team's injury reports this week to see how the wideout is progressing with his recovery.

The Bengals didn’t put Higgins on injured reserve when he sustained the quad injury, so the team probably believes he wouldn't miss the four required games to get that designation. Since the Bengals have a bye in Week 12, they might ultimately choose to keep the wide receiver out till after the bye to ensure he's 100% fit upon return.

Tee Higgins injury update: What happened to the Bengals WR?

Higgins hurt his quad during a workout session prior to the Bengals' Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He missed that game, along with games against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9 and the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10.

Although Taylor pinned Higgins as day-to-day, it is still uncertain how serious his injury is and how long more he will be sidelined for.

While Taylor stated everything is moving in the right direction for Higgins during his press appearance on Monday, but he did not specify if the receiver will practice this week.

To put Higgins' significance to the squad in perspective, the Bengals have a 1-4 record in games without him so far this season. They are likely desperate to get him back on the field against the Chargers Sunday since his presence has a significant influence on their offense.
