Tennessee Titans Playoff History
Tennessee Titans at the Minnesota Vikings v Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans are a professional American football team headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. The Titans play in the American Football Conference (AFC) South division of the National Football League (NFL). Nissan Stadium serves as the home field for the Tennessee Titans. Bud Adams, a Houston oil magnate, created the team in 1959 and owned it until his death in 2013. The team was originally known as the Houston Oilers. As a founding member of the American Football League (AFL), the team started playing in Houston, Texas, in 1960. After winning four division titles and the first two AFL titles, the Houston Oilers joined the NFL in 1970 as part of the AFL-NFL merger.

The Houston Oilers moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1997 and played their first season at Memphis, Tennessee's Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. In 1998, the team relocated to Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville. The team was known as the Tennessee Oilers for those two seasons, but after moving to Adelphia Coliseum (Nissan Stadium) for the 1999 season, they changed their name to the Tennessee Titans. In 2000, the Titans lost to the St. Louis Rams 23-16 in Super Bowl XXXIV. They had four playoff appearances and six straight winning seasons from 2016 to 2021.
