Quickly rising through the ranks of wide receivers in the NFL is the Washington Commanders’ Terry McLaurin. While he was a four-state recruit coming out of Cathedral High School with a Mr. Football Award under his name, McLaurin joined the Ohio State University in 2015. After a redshirt freshman, the next three years saw him consistently improve, putting up better numbers each year.

There wasn’t a ton of hype for McLaurin going into the draft and he was drafted by the Washington Redskins with the 76th overall pick, without much fanfare. However, a strong training camp performance earned him the starter’s role. A strong start to his rookie season saw him become the first player in NFL history to record at least 5 passes and a touchdown in their first three career appearances. He continued his strong trend totaling just under 1000 yards for the season and finding his way onto the All-Rookie team.

Next year onwards, however, is when he totally came into his own. After being named captain following Landon Collins' injury, Terry would begin a streak of three-straight 1,000-yard seasons. The first year without a stable quarterback was perhaps the most extraordinary. Prior to the 2022 season, McLaurin signed a three-year extension worth $71 million. He immediately paid off the hefty price tag with another 1,000-yard season en route to his first Pro Bowl of his career.

What is Terry McLaurin’s Height?

Terry McLaurin has a recorded height of 6 feet or 1.83 meters. Despite being undersized, Terry has carved out a niche for himself in the league with consistently solid play. While his disadvantages in length could have resulted in a late third-round selection, his career since joining the NFL has been nothing short of brilliant. With consistent play and a strong character to boot, he’s become a staple of the Washington franchise.

Terry McLaurin was born on September 15th, 1995 in Indianapolis, Indiana. After spending his high school days in the region, went to Ohio State for his collegiate career. A return to his hometown would have to wait a long time, as he would find his first action in the city all the way in week eight of the 2022 postseason. However, it was a spectacular showing from him, as he made a critical 33-yard contested catch in the final seconds of the game leading to a game-winning touchdown for the Commanders.

While his height has given him a slight disadvantage, it hasn't resulted in hampering his growth as a receiver or his production. Moreover, it is his character that has made Terry a mainstay with the Washington franchise, which was clearly visible when he was unanimously voted to replace team captain Landon Collins in 2020 when he was just in his second year.
