Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers lost on Sunday to the Washington Commanders in a stunning upset. The loss drops the team to 3-4 and 2.5 games out of first place behind the Minnesota Vikings. Their playoff and divisional title chances dwindle with every loss they endure.

In his postgame press conference, the Packers star was asked about the loss, which was the team's third in a row. Since getting to 3-1 and a virtual tie with the Vikings, they have gone into a spiral. Rodgers had a curious response when asked about the loss, according to the Athletic:

“I’m not worried about this squad. In fact, this might be the best thing for us."

The reigning MVP seems to believe that the team will be better after enduring these losses, but they will eventually add up. It is still early in the season, but each loss, whether it's a lesson learned or not, puts them further behind. The Packers star has never been shy about calling things out, notably calling performances out in the early portion of the season and in the preseason. So it was interesting that he elected to say that the team would benefit from these tough losses.

They lost by two points to the Commanders and lost to the New York Giants by five a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps he's right and these will eventually turn into close wins, but it may be too late to wait on that.

Will Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers make the playoffs?

Over the course of the season, NFL teams will have ups and downs. The Packers have already experienced a few of them. They were dominated in Week 1 and then won three in a row. They've followed that up with three losses in a row now. Talent tends to win out over a long season. The Packers are a talented team and Rodgers is too good of a quarterback to continue losing like this. Eventually, the ship will be righted.

However, that may come after the Vikings have built a solid lead in the division. Even with three Wild Card spots available, the NFC is relatively deep this year. For Rodgers' sake, he should hope the close losses quickly turn into wins or else he may be sitting at home in the postseason.
