Trent Jordan Watt, simply known as T. J. Watt is an American football defensive end for the Pittsburgh Steelers as of the 2024 NFL season. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected him with the 30th overall pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He became a starter in his rookie year and had a total of 54 combined and 40 solo tackles in 15 games. Watt was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2017. Watt in his seven years in the NFL is a six-time Pro Bowl and four-time First Team All-Pro. He also led the for sacks, tackles for a loss, and quarterback hurries for two consecutive years (2020, 2021). After being nominated four times, Watt won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2021.
Watt attended Pewaukee High School and was ranked no. 28 tight end by ESPN. He was a versatile player who played as a quarterback, linebacker, and punter. Watt committed to his home state Wisconsin and played for the University of Wisconsin from 2013 to 2016. Being redshirted the first year and missing out on injury in 2014, Watt earned his first letter in 2015. During his college career, he appeared in 27 games recording 70 tackles.
