Week 5 of the 2024 fantasy football season kicks off with a Thursday Night Football matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons. Managers should always be looking to get their week off to a strong start, so they will need to approach this game properly. Here are the best players to target and fade from the opening game of this week's slate.
TNF Falcons vs. Buccaneers Fantasy Football Week 5 Start 'Em picks
Baker Mayfield has been one of the top fantasy football quarterbacks during the 2024 NFL season so far. He currently ranks as the overall QB3 through the first four weeks. He has also finished among the top five weekly quarterbacks in three of his four games this year, so he is an elite option for Week 5 lineups.

His top two wide receivers are each having strong seasons as a result of Mayfield's stellar play. Mike Evans currently ranks as the overall WR16 this year, while Chris Godwin comes in at WR6. They will look to keep things rolling against a solid Falcons passing defense, but given their performances so far, they both make for ideal lineup options for Week 5 fantasy football.

TNF Falcons vs. Buccaneers Fantasy Football Week 5 Sit 'Em picks
Kyle Pitts is having another frustrating fantasy season as he remains inconsistent in weekly lineups. Through his first four weeks this year, he has finished among the top 10 weekly tight ends twice but has totaled just 20 yards across his other two games. In fact, he was held without a reception last week, making him a fade in Week 5 lineups.
Joining him as another formerly elite player to avoid this week is Rachaad White, who has seen his role with the Buccaneers trend in the wrong direction. Two weeks ago, he set a season-low with just six carries and last week, he set another season-worst by playing in just 58% of the offensive snaps. Rookie Bucky Irving has outperformed him this year and has consistently been earning more touches.
