Week 3 of the 2024 fantasy football season begins with a Thursday Night Football matchup between the New England Patriots and New York Jets. This game will feature two of the top running backs through the first two weeks of the season, but they are each facing off against tough defenses. Here's how to approach this contest when setting fantasy lineups.
TNF Patriots vs Jets Fantasy Football Week 3 Start 'Em picks
Both Breece Hall and Rhamondre Stevenson rank among the top 10 overall running backs in season-long scoring through their first two games this year. Stevenson also lead all players with 51 touches so far this season, as the New England Patriots have played an extremely conservative offensive style this year.

Both starting running backs make for elite options in Week 3, but the back ups will also carry some value. Braelon Allen broke out for the New York Jets last week by scoring two touchdowns and finishing as the RB7, so he may have earned himself more touches going forward. Antonio Gibson was also solid last week, turning 12 touches into 103 scrimmage yards.
Garrett Wilson is a player to keep an eye on in Week 3 after a relatively disappointing start to his fantasy football season. While he has totaled 10 receptions on 17 targets, it has resulted in just 117 yards this year and consecutive finishes outside of the weekly top 30 wide receivers. He should still be started this week in fantasy lineups, along with the following players.

TNF Jets vs Patriots Fantasy Football Week 3 Sit 'Em picks
In a projected low-scoring game between two teams with strong defenses, both quarterbacks should be faded in Week 3 lineups. Jacoby Brissett is one of the worst overall starting quarterbacks in fantasy football, while Aaron Rodgers is useful as a streamer in the right matchups. This is not one of them.
Also on the list of fades from this game are all of the wide receivers on both teams, with the exception of Garrett Wilson. The Jets have yet to have another reliable option step up and the Patriots have been using a committee approach in an offense that rarely throws the ball. Here's the full list of players to avoid.
