Todd Bowles is a professional American football coach who has guided many teams during his coaching career and currently serves as the head coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League. Before his journey began as a coach, Bowles used to play professional football in the NFL. His professional career as a football player began when he was signed by the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in the NFL draft of 1986. In 1987 he was the starting free safety in Super Bowl XXII, where the Redskins won. He also played with the San Francisco 49ers in the 1991 season and in 1992 he joined the Redskins again and started in 14 games. He was waived by the Redskins on August 31, 1993.

After retiring as a player in 1993, his professional career as a coach began in 1995, when the Green Bay Packers hired him as their secondary coach. He was the defensive backs coach for the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, and Dallas Cowboys. In 2008 he joined the Miami Dolphins as an assistant head coach where after four seasons he was named the interim head coach. He was also named the Assistant Coach of the Year for his efforts in 2014 and after that, he joined the New York Jets they signed him for four years and helped the team win 10 games in his first year leading the team. Todd Bowles also led the Buccaneers in their Super Bowl LV victory in 2020 and was named the head coach in 2022 after signing a new contract deal with them for five years.
