Ravens vs Buccaneers TNF Week 8: Tom Brady's misery reaches historic heights

For the third week in a row, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have walked away from a game with a tally added in the loss column. Tom Brady, the 45-year-old veteran quarterback, sinks two games below .500 for the first time in his career.

Things aren't looking too hot in Tampa.

On Thursday night, the Baltimore Ravens set out to Florida to battle the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay. The Bucs had high hopes of snapping their losing streak on prime time, but after four quarters of football, the scoreboard read 27-22 in Baltimore's favor.

Another loss for the struggling Buccaneers as the team tries to stay in the race for the division title in the NFC South, where the Atlanta Falcons currently hold the top spot.

Fresh off of a Thursday night game, Tampa will have a week and a half to prepare for the Los Angeles Rams as Tom Brady and company attempt to snap their losing streak. For that to happen, they'll need their quarterback to get into the swing of things.

So far, he's been missing in action.

Buccaneers aren't winning, and Tom Brady's on-field performances aren't helping

Throughout the first half of the 2022 season, seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady has looked nothing like the NFL fans have grown accustomed to.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback came into Thursday's contest logging career-lows in multiple analytics, from a touchdown percentage (2.7%) to QBR (53.2), and even average depth yards per pass attempt (7.3).

Three years ago, Brady had a similar 'down year', but there's one distinct difference between now and then: The Buccaneers aren't winning like the 2019 Patriots were.

Despite Brady playing poorly during the '19 season, New England ended the year with a record of 12-4. If Tampa Bay wins each of their remaining contests from now until the end of the season, their record will still be worse than that of the 2019 Patriots.

This difference of wins is significant when considering Tampa has more games remaining on their schedule than the amount they've already played in. In fact, New England were 8-0 at this point in the year in 2019.

Tom Brady is struggling, and the Buccaneers aren't winning. That said, it's important not to get too ahead of ourselves here; after all, no quarterback in National Football League history has accomplished more than TB12.

Tampa is hoping their QB returns to the same form that led them to a Super Bowl victory in 2020 as the season roars on.
