Tom Brady vs. Antonio Brown: Why does the WR keep taking digs at the Bucs QB?

For NFL fans, Antonio Brown is something of a mystery. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver recently stepped up his criticism of Tom Brady. Brown disagrees with the notion that he is throwing his old colleague under the bus, instead, he believes he is simply expressing his opinions.

Brown was invited to live in Brady's home while he played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since being released from the team, Antonio Brown's conduct toward the quarterback has been nothing short of contentious.

Antonio Brown hasn't stopped dropping bombshells around Tom Brady. However, he hasn't discussed what went wrong with their relationship. He hasn't addressed the numerous claims that he manipulated the game or got special treatment from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to deal with personal issues.

Brown claims he is not attacking Brady but rather highlighting the issues he noticed while watching the game. Brown asserts that he can see the game more clearly because he is no longer so close to it.

After being released by the Buccaneers, Brown turned on Brady. He claimed that the seasoned quarterback had once been his close buddy because of his football prowess. In a conversation with the Full Send Podcast, Brown stated:

"To me, a friend is who's got your back. Why is Tom Brady my friend? Because I play football well. Friendship can mean different things to different people."

Brown complained back in August that Tom Brady had special treatment at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brown said that Brady was given more time off simply because he was a superstar. Meanwhile, other players were given significantly fewer rest days.

He also claimed that Tom Brady conned him into participating in a game with an ankle injury. Brown said that Brady promised to throw the ball to him if Brown agreed to participate. Afterward, Brady failed to do so:

"Tom promised to toss the ball if I came to play while injured, so I did. Imagine being injured, playing with it, and being misled."

Brown has trolled Brady on social media in the past using Bündchen. During the divorce process between Brady and Gisele, he released a photo of himself and Gisele embracing. Additionally, he had previously used Photoshop to add his face to a photo of Brady and Gisele.

Brown also revealed a lengthy text that Brady sent him. In the text, Brady implied that Brown was behaving selfishly and irresponsibly.

While Brown's motives may seem a little peculiar, particularly with how uneccessarily far he is willing to go. But given his history of conflict and controversy with various franchises and NFL figures, perhaps it shouldn't come as a surprise.

It's possible that Brown's war with Brady is winding down, but there's always a chance he's just getting started.
