Brady became the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers upon joining the franchise. Brady made his debut in the first game of the 2020 NFL season, against the New Orleans Saints.
He completed a total of 239 passing yards with 23 out of 36 pass completions. He scored a rushing touchdown along with making two touchdown passes. However, it was the Saints who emerged victorious in the match with a score of 34-23.

Tom Brady’s first season with the Buccaneers was the 2020 NFL season which was played behind closed doors for the most part due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After losing his debut match against the New Orleans Saints, Brady put in spectacular performances to win three consecutive games. In the Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Brady became the oldest quarterback to have made 5 touchdown passes in a single game. The then 43 year old Brady also won the NFL Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
