
Tony Romo is an American sports analyst and former football quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys during his 13-year career in the NFL. He signed with the Cowboys after going undrafted in the NFL 2003 Draft. Romo was a Second-team All-Pro in 2014, a four-time Pro Bowler (2006, 2007, 2009, 2014), and led the NFL in passer rating and completion percentage in 2014. He announced his retirement from the NFL and was released by the Cowboys on April 4, 2017. After retiring from the NFL, Romo was hired by CBS Sports and is works with them as an analyst, as of February 2025.
He played college football at Eastern Illinois University before coming into the NFL. He ranked second in Division I-AA in passing efficiency and completed 164-of-278 passes for 2,583 yards and 27 touchdowns as a sophomore. He was also named OVC Player of the Year for three years. Romo was also inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a member of the 2021 class in December 2021, as per Sports Illustrated. Prior to entering college football, he played high school at the Burlington High School.
