The Los Angeles Chargers have signed Cameron Dicker to a four-year $22.004 million extension. The 24-year-old kicker was an undrafted free agent and joined the Chargers in 2022 after getting waived by the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Ravens.
Last season, Dicker made 31 out of 33 field goals that he attempted and was 35/35 on extra points. The two field goals that he missed were both 50+ yard attempts, and he has been very reliable for the Chargers.
Dicker is now among the top five highest-paid kickers in the league. Here is the full list of the highest-paid kickers heading into the 2024 NFL season.

Cameron Dicker contract: Highest-paid kickers in NFL
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker became the highest-paid kicker in the league after he signed a four-year, $25.6 million deal this offseason. Cameron Dicker is currently ranked as the fifth highest-paid kicker in the league, and he is just ahead of Cincinnati Bengals' Evan McPherson on this list.
- Harrison Butker - Kansas City Chiefs: $6.4 million AAV (Annual average value)
- Jake Elliot - Philadelphia Eagles: $6 million AAV
- Justin Tucker - Baltimore Ravens: $6 million AAV
- Matt Gay - Indianapolis Colts - $5.625 million AAV
- Cameron Dicker - Los Angeles Chargers - $5.501 million AAV
The Chargers are starting a new era under Jim Harbaugh, and they have prioritized keeping their reliable kicker. Dicker will make life easy for Justin Herbert and the offense, which is not expected to be dynamic this year.
The Chargers will heavily rely on their running game this year, which will help Herbert, who was required to carry this team alone since getting drafted.
The AFC West franchise will begin their season at home against the Las Vegas Raiders, and it will be important for them to come away with a win in this game. The Chiefs are still the best team in the division, but if the Chargers want to minimize the gap with them, they need to be dominant against their other division rivals, i.e., the Raiders and the Broncos.
