Controversy over perceived unfair oversights can still occur during the NFL Pro Bowl in 2023, which will now be known as the Pro Bowl Games. Most people know that the Pro Bowl may never properly depict the league's best players for any particular season. The voting procedure may unjustly overlook impressive players who aren't yet big names while favoring well-known and reputable players.
Let's start by discussing the players who were passed over for the Pro Bowl in 2023.
#5 - Rhamondre Stevenson - New England Patriots - RB

Let's concentrate on Rhamondre Stevenson's impressive run, thus far. This season, he successfully seized the RB1 position for the New England Patriots and ran with it. Stevenson's 172 career-high run yards in Week 15 give him a decent opportunity to surpass 1,000 yards in the upcoming game or games.
The Patriots are currently a bad team, but without Stevenson's reliable performance, they would be far worse. Stevenson averages five yards per rush and has 60 receptions. Stevenson has been the one player on the Patriots' attack that has been dependable in a season where practically all has gone awry for them offensively.
#4 - Christian McCaffrey - San Francisco 49ers - RB
Christian McCaffrey leads all running backs with, at least, 15 routes run per game with 2.0 yards per route run, and he ranks second among all RBs this campaign with a receiver tracking metrics total score of 79.
With 1,550 yards from scrimmage, McCaffrey is fifth in the NFL and is the only player in the top 7 in that statistical group who was not chosen for the Pro Bowl.
His involvement with two different teams may have diminished McCaffrey's attraction. Still, since switching from the Carolina Panthers to the San Francisco 49ers, McCaffrey has improved the 49ers' offensive line and has them in the third position in the NFC playoff contention.
#3 - Justin Fields - Chicago Bears - QB
Justin Fields, the Chicago Bears quarterback, quickly got support from NFL fans far and wide for being overlooked. In 13 outings, the second-year quarterback has run for 1,000 yards and eight TDs, averaging 7.0 yards per run. He has completed 62% of his throws with 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. As a result, he is one of only three quarterbacks to gain 1,000 yards on the ground this campaign. The supporters' concerns over his omission may be valid.
#2 - Nick Bolton - Kansas City Chiefs - LB
The Kansas City Chiefs secondary is led by Nick Bolton, who is having a fantastic second season. Bolton has made 137 total tackles, which is seventh in the league. Bolton is a tackling machine. A total of seven quarterback hits, two pass breakups, two interceptions, two sacks, and one forced fumble have been recorded by him. In this campaign, Bolton has also shown enhanced pass protection abilities. Many people think Bolton meets the qualifications by all means, but voters didn't think so.
#1 - Tua Tagovailoa - Miami Dolphins - QB
The Miami Dolphins signal-caller garnered the most Pro Bowl votes of any NFL player, but Tua Tagovailoa was left off the list of AFC quarterbacks.
With 13.3 yards gained per pass completion, 107.8 quarterback rating, and 8.6 yards gained per pass attempt, Tagovailoa is in first place in all these categories in the NFL this season. Tagovailoa added 3,238 yards, 24 scores, and five interceptions while passing.
Despite winning the fan vote, voters for the Pro Bowl did not think Tagovailoa was any better than Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, or Patrick Mahomes.
