One of the most crucial position groups in the NFL is wide receivers. Good receivers have the power to transform underperforming teams into contenders and they can turn teams around faster than most people think.

As another offseason draws near, changes will begin to occur in the wideout position throughout the league. Wide receiver starters for 2025 are already being considered by teams both in and out of the postseason picture.

Here's a closer look at five highly-rated receivers who could be making big moves in the offseason.

Top 5 wide receivers that could make blockbuster moves to other teams in 2025 offseason

One of the most sought-after free agents of the forthcoming offseason will be Tee Higgins, a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals who is currently playing under a franchise tag.

Although the Bengals would like to retain the wide receiver they selected in 2020 with a second-round draft pick, it doesn't seem like an agreement is imminent. Higgins is expected to leave via free agency in 2025, even though quarterback Joe Burrow recently declared that the organization will make a concentrated attempt to keep him.

Eventually, Higgins might be persuaded by a sizable offer from one of the numerous clubs on the market for his services that are in dire need of a receiver.

Several sides in the league, notably the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans, could profit from having Higgins on their team.

#2. Garrett Wilson (New York Jets)

In 2025, Garrett Wilson will have the opportunity to hold talks about a contract extension in New York, where he might aim to become one of the best-paid players at his position in the league. However, after three years with a struggling group, there have been whispers that the former first-round pick will be looking to move elsewhere.

Since his first season in 2022, Garrett has generally performed well on an individual basis, but he has never had a winning season. The 24-year-old has undoubtedly had a particularly difficult season this year, so rumors that he may look for an escape strategy are not all that ridiculous.

#3. Chris Godwin (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Chris Godwin is set to become a free agent in 2025. There will be plenty of clubs interested in the 28-year-old even though a dislocated ankle injury he sustained in October will keep him from playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the remainder of the season.

Godwin's season ended prematurely this year, so there's a chance he stays at Tampa Bay in 2025, but it's always a good idea to weigh his options. But for the time being, the former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver will concentrate on his recovery ahead of play next season.

#4. Stefon Diggs (Houston Texans)

Stefon Diggs sustained a season-ending ACL tear during a Week 8 game against the Indianapolis Colts. Diggs was having a strong season and appeared like he would attract a lot of interest in the 2025 free agent market, having already recorded 47 receptions and 496 receiving yards.

The Buffalo Bills traded Diggs away to the Houston Texans in April for a 2025 second-round pick. He is set to be a free agent next year after Houston voided the last three years of his former contract.

Diggs is still a highly recognized wide receiver, so other clubs might be open to adding him to their squad for the upcoming campaign despite his injury.

#5. DeAndre Hopkins (Kansas City Chiefs)

DeAndre Hopkins is currently 32 years old, but the veteran receiver is still playing well after being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs before the trade deadline earlier this season.

Since entering the league as a first-round selection in 2013, Hopkins has achieved five All-Pro and five Pro Bowl accolades, so there's no doubt about his quality.

Although Hopkins' efficiency has decreased in recent months, his 2025 free agent stock may increase if he remains a valuable member of the Chiefs' offense in the postseason.
