The Carolina Panthers have benched Bryce Young after their 26-3 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2. Young, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has struggled massively so far in his career, and new head coach Dave Canales will start Andy Dalton in Week 3.

The Panthers traded away D.J. Moore and a plethora of draft assets to the Chicago Bears to get the first overall pick last year, and now, they could cut ties with Young sooner rather than later.

As per Adam Schefter, the decision to bench the quarterback came from Canales, general manager Dan Morgan, and EVP Brandt Tillis. Getting traded by the Panthers might be a disguised blessing for Young, as he could save his NFL career by playing in favorable conditions like Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold.

Here are three teams that could make a move for Young if he is available for a Justin Fields-esque trade package:

#1. Miami Dolphins

Making a move for Bryce Young makes sense for the Miami Dolphins. Given the uncertainty surrounding Tua Tagovailoa's future, the Dolphins could potentially acquire a quarterback drafted ahead of C.J. Stroud for a fifth or sixth-round pick.

There is no denying that Young has been bad on the field, but the Panthers clearly have the worst roster in the league, and not many quarterbacks could play well for them.

The Dolphins have a lot of playmakers on their team, and head coach Mike McDaniels can save Young's career. Even if Tagovailoa continues to play, getting Young and keeping him as a backup will be ideal for the Dolphins.

#2. Tennessee Titans

Another team that could take a punt on Bryce Young is the Tennessee Titans. Will Levis certainly has the talent but his mistakes have cost the Titans two straight games.

Young could be a reliable backup for several NFL teams, such as the Titans. Once he regains his confidence, the former Alabama star could still excel in the league and probably become a starter again.

There is a reason why Young was drafted ahead of Stroud, and I would like to see him on a functioning offense with a good offensive line before declaring his NFL career is over.

#3. Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions have their starting quarterback in Jared Goff for the foreseeable future. But the Lions could certainly fancy getting a quality backup for cheap in case things go south.

If there is any team that Bryce Young can have the most success on, it is the Lions. They have one of the best offensive lines in the league, and players like Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Sam LaPorta will make him feel like he is back at Alabama again.

If Young shows improvement, the Lions can flip him for a better draft pick at any time and continue with Goff.

Nobody knows what the Panthers will do with Bryce Young as of now, but everyone would agree that it would be better for the young quarterback's future if he ends up getting traded.
