Travis Etienne injury update, fantasy outlook and start/sit advice for Week 6 Fantasy Football

Running back Travis Etienne of the Jacksonville Jaguars is expected to have one of the bigger years for running backs across the NFL. He's in his fourth (third season active) season in the NFL and is fresh off of back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons.

The Jaguars have struggled through their first five games, sitting at 1-4. Etienne has had a solid season thus far, rushing for 231 yards, averaging 4.4 yards per carry, and two touchdowns. Additionally, he has 16 catches for 91 yards.

In a game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Etienne had the least amount of touches in any game this season. He only had six carries for 17 yards, but had six catches for 43 yards. The 12 total touches tied a season low.

There are a few reasons why Travis Etienne's production was cut short on Sunday. The main reason is he reportedly suffered a shoulder injury.

Jaguars coach Doug Pederson spoke to the media on Monday and said that Etienne suffered a shoulder injury in the game. The team was being cautious and didn't want to risk an injury.

Etienne played in just 38.6% of of the Jags' total snaps in Week 5, compared to his 65.8% in Weeks 1-4.

While there aren't a lot of details about Travis Etienne's injury and when he will recover, the Jacksonville Jaguars should feel confident in their backup, Tank Bigsby.

Bigsby seems to be having a breakout year. As the Jaguars' backup running back, he ranks top 20 in yards (273), touchdowns (2) and yards per carry (8.0.)

Bigsby had a strong opening game, rushing for 73 yards on 12 carries against the Miami Dolphins. He cooled off significantly the next two weeks before having big games the last two weeks.

Against the Houston Texans in Week 4, Bigsby had 90 yards on seven carries. In Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts, Bigsby ran for a career-high 101 yards on 13 carries and scored two touchdowns. He also added 28 yards on the air.

Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer favors Travis Etienne for week 6. Of course, the Jaguars star will be in London for international games. However, one might consider Singletary (or another RB) as an option if Eitenne's injury aggravates as Sunday nears.
