Trevon Diggs is one of the Dallas Cowboys' star defenders who is still standing, but his status for the Pittsburgh Steelers matchup was a big question mark. Diggs' availability has become more relevant, with Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence set to miss multiple weeks due to injuries.
It's time to check the latest update on Diggs' health ahead of Sunday's Cowboys duel against the Steelers.
Trevon Diggs' injury update
Trevon Diggs sounded the alarms when he left practice with an ankle injury on Thursday, which prompted the team to include him on the injury report.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy explained that the team isn't rushing anything related to Diggs.
"Just being smart with Trevon. I feel pretty good about where he is. Everything points to him probably going Sunday night," McCarthy said on Friday, via Jon Machota on X.
While McCarthy's words could provide relief to Cowboys fans and fantasy managers, he didn't share more details about Diggs' status for the game. The team has depth issues on the defense and losing Diggs would be a major blow for this unit.
Diggs has recorded 18 total tackles (14 solo and four assists) and one interception this season. Seeing him on the injury report isn't the best news for the fans, more so knowing that his season was cut short in 2023.
Besides Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence, the Cowboys will miss starting wide receiver Brandin Cooks and cornerback DaRon Bland against the Steelers.
Trevon Diggs suffered a season-ending injury in 2023
Diggs' body has been ruthless with him in the past year. After signing a five-year $97 million contract extension with Dallas in July 2023, he tore his ACL during one-on-one drills in practice in September.
He was ruled out for the rest of the season after two games. At the time, he had intercepted one pass on nine targets, allowing only three completions and 31 receiving yards.
The Cowboys are off to a rocky start, boasting a 2-2 record after a humbling 44-19 loss to the New Orleans Saints and a close 28-25 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens. They beat the Browns in the season opener and the struggling Giants in Week 4.
