William Trevor Lawrence is a professional American football quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL, as of 2024. The Jaguars drafted Lawrence with the first overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft. Lawrence had a league-high 17 interceptions in addition to being second in rookie passing yards (3,641) behind Mac Jones in 2021. Lawrence has 4,113 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and eight interceptions at the end of the 2022 season. He was the first quarterback from the Jacksonvilles to be selected as an alternate for the 2023 Pro Bowl since David Garrard in 2009. Lawrence concluded the 2023 season with 4,016 throwing yards, 21 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.
Lawrence attended Clemson University for collegiate football. During his freshman season, the Touchdown Club of Columbus presented Lawrence with the Archie Griffin Award and National Freshman of the Year after he completed the season with 3,280 throwing yards and 30 touchdowns. Additionally, he received the ACC Rookie of the Year title. The following season, Lawrence was named seventh in the Heisman Trophy voting. Following his final season there, Lawrence won the ACC Athlete of the Year award for men. Lawrence played high school football at Cartersville High School prior to playing collegiate football.
