William Trevor Lawrence is a professional American football player who plays as a quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL, as of 2024. With the first overall pick, the Jaguars drafted Lawrence in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft. Lawrence was second in rookie throwing yards (3,641) behind Mac Jones and recorded a league-high 17 interceptions. By the end of 2022, Lawrence has amassed 4,113 throwing yards, 25 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Since David Garrard in 2009, he was the first Jacksonville quarterback to be chosen as an alternate for the 2023 Pro Bowl. Lawrence finished the 2023 season with 14, interceptions, 21 touchdowns, and 4,016 throwing yards.

Lawrence played collegiate football at Clemson University. Lawrence finished his rookie season with 3,280 throwing yards and 30 touchdowns, earning him the Archie Griffin Award and the title of National Freshman of the Year from the Touchdown Club of Columbus. He also won the title of ACC Rookie of the Year. Lawrence placed seventh in the Heisman Trophy voting the following season and was named the ACC Men's Athlete of the Year after his last season there. Before playing NCAA football, Lawrence was a high school football player at Cartersville High School.
