Tennessee-born football guard Henry Louis "Trey" Smith III was drafted in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Smith became a regular in his rookie year as he started in all of the regular and playoff games that season. Smith was selected in the 2024 Pro Bowl, marking his first inclusion in his pro career. He was also named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2021. Smith is also a two-time Super Bowl winner with the Kansas City Chiefs. He completed his fourth season with the Chiefs by the end of the 2024 regular season. Growing up in Humboldt, he attended the University School of Jackson. Smith was ranked as the no. 1 prospect by ESPN in the class of 2017 as he earned the All-State offensive lineman honor thrice. The five-star recruit out of high school is also a two-time Tennessee Mr. Football and winner of the Bobby Dodd Award in 2016.

Smith chose to commit to his home state and play for the Vols over the several scholarships he was offered. He was a regular straight from his freshman season as he appeared in 12 games that season, as per Sports Reference, and was also named to the Freshman All-SEC by coaches in 2017. Smith finished his college career playing in 42 games, recorded by Sports Reference.
