Football fans will be curious to know whether Tampa Bay's offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs will play in the upcoming contest. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14 of the 2022-23 NFL season.

Unfortunately, Wirfs was ruled out for the matchup against the "Niners" on Sunday. The 23-year-old is still recovering from an ankle injury he suffered in Tampa Bay's Week 12 game against the Cleveland Browns. Wirfs was carted off the field, causing plenty of doubt over his availability for the remainder of the season.

While speaking to reporters last week, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles provided moderately positive news on Wirfs' high ankle sprain. He revealed that his offensive tackle will be out for three to four weeks.

This is good news considering that Wirfs will be available in the postseason if Tampa Bay qualifies for the playoffs. However, the Buccaneers will need to field a replacement for one of their best offensive players for most of December.

Tristan Wirfs helped the Buccaneers win the Super Bowl title in 2021 and earned Pro Bowl honors as well for his incredible displays over the course of the season. Tampa Bay will be hoping to have their offensive tackle back sooner rather than later.
