Tennessee Titans RB Tyjae Spears has entered the fantasy football waiver wire talk ahead of Week 16 after his excellent showing in Week 15. Starting running back Tony Pollard has been the lead back for the Titans throughout 2024 but is now dealing with injuries, which means more playing time for Spears.
With Spears' fantasy stock ascending ahead of Week 16 and many people being in fantasy football playoffs, he becomes an intriguing waiver-wire option this week.
Tyjae Spears waiver wire fantasy outlook for Week 16
In the Titans' Week 15 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Tyjae Spears ended the day with 27.2 PPR fantasy points, totaling 92 yards from scrimmage and two TDs. This was by far his best performance of the season, and Spears ended the week as RB3 behind only James Conner and Jahmyr Gibbs.

This season, Spears is only RB49 in PPR, having seen little in the way of opportunities as opposed to his teammate Tony Pollard, who's dominated touches and is RB18.
However, Pollard has dealt with niggling injuries throughout the season, which has seen Spears see more opportunities over the previous two weeks. The Titans seem happy to manage Pollard's workload and to allow Spears to see the field more.
In Week 15, Pollard was questionable before being activated against the Bengals, and despite seeing more carries than Spears, he didn't see any passing game work and ended the day with just 8.5 PPR points.
In Week 16, the Titans take on the Indianapolis Colts. The week after, they face the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams rank in the top 10 of most fantasy football points allowed to running backs, giving Spears an excellent playoff schedule for his fantasy managers.
He's definitely worth a waiver wire pickup ahead of Week 16 with the potential of more touches and facing an excellent fantasy football playoff schedule.
