
Tyrann Mathieu is a professional American footballer who plays in the NFL as a safety for the New Orleans Saints. Tyrann Mathieu's career began in the Year 2013 when he was chosen by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the NFL draft 2013.
On May 2023 Tyrann Mathieu signed a deal worth $3.05 million with Arizona Cardinals for four years. In the debut of his professional career, he recorded seven tackles and a forced fumble in a 27-14 loss against St. Louis Rams. With 13 games and 11 starts, he finished his debuting season with 68 tackles, nine pass deflections, a sack and a forced fumble. After a great debut season, Tyrann Mathieu continued his brilliant performance for the Arizona Cardinals in the upcoming season where in the 2017 season he finished with 78 tackles, two interceptions, and one sack. In 2018 Tyrann Mathieu and Arizona Cardinals were having a dispute over his contract which in him being released from the team on March 14 2018.
After being released Mathieu agreed to sign a new one-year deal worth $7 million with Houston Texans. He finished the following season with 89 tackles three sacks and two interceptions. After this one-year deal, on March 14, 2019, he signed a three-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs worth $42 million. He finished the 2019 season with 75 tackles, two sacks, and four interceptions. Mathieu won the super bowl LIV when the San Francisco 49ers were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs in a 31–20 victory. In 2021 Mathieu was test positive for Covid-19 so he was kept off the team for a short period of time. After recovering he had a wonderful 2021 season where on the top 100 NFL list he was named 70th by his team members. On May 2022 he signed another three-year contract worth $33 million with the New Orleans Saints.
