Tyrone Tracy Jr. has been in the limelight for the New York Giants ahead of their Week 9 matchup against the Washington Commanders.

The running back had been in the concussion protocol and fans want to know whether the rookie will feature in Sunday's game.

On Friday, the Giants announced that Tyrone Tracy Jr. had cleared the concussion protocols. Then, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the running back is expected to play against the Commanders in Week 9 on Sunday.

The back did not practice on Wednesday but returned as a limited participant on Thursday. He was upgraded to a full participant on Friday and is now in line to play this weekend.

Tracy suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of the Giants' Week 8 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. His helmet hit the ground on a play and he went to the medical tent for a checkup before exiting the game.

Per reports, his concussion didn't appear to be serious since he was able to return to practice this week and he's also got the green light to feature against the Commanders on Sunday.

The Giants drafted him in the fifth round this year and the player has been one of the few bright spots in the team's offense. The running back has recorded 376 yards on 73 carries and rushed for two touchdowns. He has also added 113 yards on 16 receptions across eight games.
